East Haven Fire Department Displays a Piece of Steel from the World Trade Center
The piece of steel was mounted on the town Green.

The following post is from the East Haven Fire Union:
“A couple of years ago were we able to obtain a piece of steel from one of the towers at the World Trade Center from the attacks on 9/11/01.... The piece of steel today was mounted on a piece of East Haven Granite next to the Flag Pole at the East Haven Fire Department Memorial on the town Green on the corner of Hemingway Avenue and River Street.
As you all attend the East Haven Fall Festival this weekend please stop by and see it and say a little prayer for those who were lost that day at the WTC and those that were lost at the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa., and also our first responders both from EHFD and EHPD who responded to Ground Zero that night and the days that followed. We wanted this on display for this 9/11 but this will not be the final display, we will be adding shrubbery, a park bench and other items before it’s done.”
