East Haven Firefighters Educate Yale School Of Medicine Residents

East Haven's bravest shared their knowledge with Yale medical school emergency medicine residents on how a vehicle extrication works.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Some things just must be learned in the field.

The East Haven Fire Department hosted Yale University School of Medicine residents in Emergency Medicine on how a vehicle extrication works by demonstrating the process.

Coordinated by James Murray Jr., the East Haven Fire Department training officer, Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli said the educational demonstration was a "great opportunity" for the department, and for "doctors that will specialize in emergency medicine."

Firefighters were able to "showcase department equipment, and personnel, to an outside agency who is a stakeholder in our organization who aspire to excellence every day," Marcarelli said.

Nelson Ambulance donated a vehicle to practice on, it was noted by the Yale Center for EMS who shared the event on Facebook. See great photos from the event here.
