An East Haven First: Community Garden Sprouts Up, Plots For Residents

Located at 39 Moulthop St., the garden will provide a central location for residents to tend and grow their own mini garden plots.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The creation of the town's first community garden is underway.

Saying the town "continues to grow," Michelle Benivegna, East Haven's Director of Administration and Management and town Economic Development Director, shared the news on Facebook.

Located at 39 Moulthop St., the garden will provide a central location for residents to tend and grow their own mini garden plot, she said.

"This was an idea presented to the town by an inspiring group, and together we joined forces and made it a reality," Benivegan said.

The town's public works department, led by Charles Coyle, and volunteers have been busy building it.
