East Haven Students Welcome Mariner's Point Residents

Some of East Haven's youngest and most senior residents joined together recently to share a morning of fun, food and entertainment.

played host to residents from the dementia unit of on Feb. 10.

As the residents arrived they were greeted by the East Haven High School Cheerleaders and Pom Pom Girls, according to Tony Vaspasiano, the high school's activities coordinator.

'Great Big Smiles'

The residents were escorted to their seats by the girls. And the National Anthem was sung by one of the students.

"Great big smiles were evident on the residents’ faces as both, the EHHS Cheerleaders and Pom Pom Girls performed their own special routines," Vaspasiano told East Haven Patch.

A Culinary Treat

The East Haven High School choir and music theory class then performed multiple songs for the residents.

Vaspasiano added that before leaving, the residents were served a continental style breakfast prepared by the high school's culinary class.
