East Haven Man, 39, Shot In New Haven In Predawn Hours Thursday

New Haven police are investigating the 3 a.m. shooting of a man who was driven in a private car to the hospital. He's in stable condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT —It was 3 in the morning on Lombard Street when shots rang out, police said.

New Haven police got a Shotspotter alert about gunfire on Lombard between Poplar and Ferry streets, police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway said.

As police were securing a "crime scene in the area," New Haven Dispatch received a 911 call from Yale New Haven Hospital reporting a 39-year-old East Haven man had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated for injuries and was listed in stable condition. Police have not released the victim's name.
