Man Charged In Connection With Death of Woman: East Haven Police
Police said the accused will be charged with murder once he is released from the hospital.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police said a woman was found dead inside a residence, and a man is in custody.
At 5:30 p.m. Friday, the East Haven Public Safety Communication Center received a 911 call with no one heard on the line.
The call location was pinging over an address on Edmere Road. Officers made contact with an adult male sitting on the kitchen floor who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, police said.

Moments later, an adult female victim was located in an adjacent room with apparent fatal injuries, police said. The East Haven Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at 5:48 p.m.
The male subject was detained. The male subject was in police custody and was transported to the hospital.

Sean McCormack, 56, of East Haven, was initially charged with first-degree assault and held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
"As additional information became available, investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for additional charges for Mccormack," police said. "He is still at the hospital under police guard. Upon release from the hospital, Mccormack will be charged with Murder in violation of C.G.S. 53a-54a. Bond is set at $2 million."

The East Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division, the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes, Central District, and the New Haven State's Attorney’s Office are assisting with the investigation.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
