Pay Raise Approved for East Haven Mayor Position
The raise will go into effect after the next mayoral election in November.

EAST HAVEN, CT – Stating East Haven’s mayor was underpaid in comparison with other leaders of surrounding municipalities, the Town Council at its April 18th meeting voted to increase the pay $22,000 –
starting with the next mayoral election in November of this year.
Mayor Joseph Maturo currently earns $87,000. He has already announced he will be seeking another term this November.
The Town Council, by a 9-2 vote approved two $11,086.50 pay raises for the mayor’s position – one in the next 2017-18 budget, one in the 2018-19 budget – to bring the mayor’s pay rate up to $109,298.

The pay increase came after a lengthy public hearing testimony about the proposed increase.
