East Haven Election 2017 Results: Vote Totals For All Races

The town voted on several local positions on Nov. 7. Here are the full vote totals for all races.

EAST HAVEN, CT – One thing that election night results certainly showed is that things have tightened up between the Democrat and Republican parties over the past few years in the town of East Haven.

Republican Joe Maturo did win an unprecedented ninth term, but it was by a very close vote. His 3,649 votes gave him a 106 vote victory over Democrat Sal Maltese, who garnered 3,543 votes.

Additionally, the race for Town Clerk was almost as close, as Maturo’s running mate, Stacy Gravino, eked out a close win – by 3,471 to 3,267 over Democrat Liz Esposito.

For Town Council, District 1, the top vote getter was Republican Kenneth McKay who got 722 votes, followed by fellow Republicans Fred J. Parlato’s 706 and Robert Parente’s 667. The top Democrat was Beth Capotorto with 625, followed by Ann Pennington with 599 and Patrick Paulson with 594.

For District 2, the top vote g enter was Democrat Joseph Deko with 900, followed by fellow Democrats Joseph Santino with 898 and Nicholas Palladino’s 818. Republican Gary DePalma got 711, and fellow Republicans Beverly Gravino came in with 610, followed by Albert Carocci’s 574.

In District 3, the top vote getter was Democrat Louis Pacelli with 663, followed by fellow Democrat Joseph Carfora’s 618. Next came Republicans Judy Esposito at 594 and Robert Sand at 581, followed by Republican Paul Thompson at 580 and Republican William Richardson at 546.

In District 4, the top vote getter was Republican “Big” Steve Tracey at 696, followed by Republican Linda Hennessy at 635. Next came Democrat Joseph Badamo at 590 and fellow Democrat Letizia Lettieri-Morales at 585; then Republican Bob Cubellotti at 580 and Democrat Dominic Cretella at 557.

In District 5, the top vote getter was Henry Butler at 683, followed by Republicans Richard Anania at 656 and Paul Carbo at 640. Next came Democrats George Smith at 587 and Ray Pompano at 577, followed by Republican Loria Jaffe at 544.

For the Board of Education the top vote getter was Republican Samantha Parlato at 3,339, followed by fellow Republican John Finkle at 3,220. Next came Republican Tom Hennesssey at 3,164, Democrat MaryAnn Pellegrino at 3,163, Democrat Patricia DePalma at 3,132, Republican Michele DeLucia at 3,116, Democrat Christine Maisano at 3,112, Republican Lisa Geraci-Anastasia at 3,111, Democrat Dominic Milano at 3,060, Democrat Erika Santino-Santiago at 3,057, Democrat Robert Fox at 2,836 and Republican Temple Parente-Smith at 2,789.

For Board of Finance, top vote getter was Democrat Richard DePalma with 3,431, followed by Republican Ralph Vitale with 3,323, followed by Democrat Richard Esposito with 3,300, followed by Democrat Noreen Clough with 3,158, followed by Democrat Marc Conte with 3,077, followed by Republican Beth Purcell with 3,044, followed by Republican Marlene Asid with 2,903, followed by Republican Robert Schumitz with 2,861.

The New Haven Register reports that local Democrats did make some inroads tonight. Democrats now have seven seats on the Town Council, Republicans still have a majority of eight. Republicans have a one seat advantage on the Board of Education and Democrats won three of four Board of Finance seats that were up for grabs on election night.
