East Haven Nursing Home Fined: Report

Laurel Woods in East Haven was fined $1,440 on October 15 by the state Department of Public Health reports Kate Farrish of the Connecticut Health I-Team.

Three patients developed pressure ulcers and four out of five weekly body audits of a resident were not performed between July and September, the I-Team reports.

Then in another case a nurse’s aide forgot that a resident wasn’t supposed to wear shoes, and then a patient’s water temperature in their room reached 236 degrees.

Operators of the nursing home say corrective action was taken immediately, the I-Team reports.
