East Haven Police: Branford Man Burglarized or Attempted to Steal from 5 Businesses

Police say the man broke into or attempted to break into five East Haven businesses all on the same day.

East Haven police say this Branford man, Eric J. Dingus, 36, of North Ivy Street, was allegedly a one man crime wave and it all happened on the same day.

Police say Dingus was charged recently on an arrest warrant with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny, and second-degree larceny.

But there’s more, two counts of criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and lastly, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.

East Haven police spokesman Lt. David Emerman highlighted all of the incidents allegedly involving Dingus.

A&A Cleaners – 29 Hemingway Ave – sheds broken into, items located/recovered behind shed

Jennifer’s Ice Cream – 388 Main Street – Attempted Burglary, no entry gained

44 Hemingway Ave – Tools valued at $5000 stolen from garage

Foliage Chinese Food Restaurant – 452 Main St – ATM removed, tampered with, opened.”

This all allegedly happened on May 24, 2014.
