East Haven Police Cited As Having Policies That Limit Cooperation With ICE: Report

Only two Connecticut communities were mentioned in the Department of Homeland Security report.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A new report issued by the Department of Homeland Security states that the East Haven Police Department is a department that "have enacted policies which limit cooperation with ICE" or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, reports the Connecticut Mirror.

The only two Connecticut communities mentioned in the DHS report are East Haven and Hartford. East Haven is mentioned in the report along with such larger cities including Boston, New York and Chicago, the Mirror reports.

The report states East Haven "will not honor ICE detainers," which means they won't agree to keep immigrants locked up before federal agents can take custody of them.
