East Haven Police Investigate Suspicious Persons Complaint

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police are asking for assistance in identifying a group of males connected to a suspicious vehicle complaint, police said Saturday.

At 4:52 p.m. Friday, police responded to the area of South End Road for a suspicious vehicle complaint, police said.

Upon arrival, police poke with the complainant. The complainant reported that there was a group of suspicious males, one of which was described as a man riding a motorized scooter with a mask on, police said.

"The complainant stated the males were taking pictures of their daughter and friends in the parking lot of the beach club," police said in a news release.

"A second complainant attempted to confront the male on the scooter, who loaded the scooter into a silver van and subsequently put a temporary New Jersey registration over the license plate on the vehicle," police said in a news release.

The suspects then fled and abandoned the vehicle on a side street in New Haven and fled on foot, police said. The suspects were not located, and the vehicle was towed by the New Haven Police Department, police said.
