East Haven Police Officer Fired: Report

The Board of Police Commissioners took action Tuesday night.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The Board of Fire Commissioners voted this week to terminate the employment of 11-year police officer Vincent Ferrara, reports the Connecticut Post.

The Connecticut Post reports that Ferrara is accused of making "misleading" responses to an investigator concerning his "using his city email to send nude and semi-nude photos of women to his private email in 2015 and 2017." Ferrara, who claims to be a whistleblower cop concerning past police department corruption, said he plans to appeal the decision, the CT Post reports.

Ferrara has a pending federal lawsuit against the Police Department and has contended that he is being retaliated against because he assisted the federal government in a past corruption probe.
