East Haven police say they are searching for two men who allegedly brutally assaulted a man on Gerrish Avenue on early Friday. Police said at about 2:20 a.m. officers responded to Yale-New Haven Hospital to investigate an assault that had occurred earlier at 90 Gerrish Avenue. "It was determined that a male assault victim was transported to the hospital via private car," said Police Lt. David Emerman. "The victim suffered severe traumatic injuries as a result of the assault, although at this time, they do not appear to be life-threatening."The East Haven Police Department are seeking two males who are believed to be suspects in this case. No further description is available at this time.Investigations are ongoing, police said. Anyone with any information regarding this crime is asked to call the East Haven Police Department Detective Division at 203-468-3827 or Dispatch at 203-468-3820. Callers may remain anonymous.
