East Haven Rotary Club Honors Its Latest Students Of The Month

EAST HAVEN, CT —The East Haven Rotary Club honored its latest Student of the Month recipients for the months of September and October.

Sherry Ragone and Melania Korenovsky, "very accomplished, and hard-working women," are currently in this year’s junior class at East Haven High School.

Ragone is a member of the Science Club with ambition to become a Mechanical & Robotics Engineer. She is hoping to attend the Worchester Polytechnic Institute or CCSU and would like to own a Robotics company.

Korenovsky participates in Cross Country and Tennis and is involved in many school organizations, such as the Math League, Ukrainian American Youth Organization and Future Business Leaders of America.

Each month, the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. The club has recently been invited to make these presentations at EHPS Superintendent Erica Forti’s monthly, District Wide Students of the Month Assembly.

The East Haven Rotary Club presents each honoree with a certificate and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1000 Jack Leary Memorial scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year.

The Club, now in its 84th year was organized on March 3, 1939.
