East Haven Rotary Club Names Kayla Federico As March Student of the Month

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Rotary Club recently honored Kayla Federico as March’s Student of the Month.
Federico is an outstanding student who exemplifies dedication, leadership, and involvement in the school community, according to a Rotary Club news release.
She is a member of the Girls Varsity Tennis team and actively participates in numerous organizations, including the National Honor Society, Yearbook Club, Writing Committee, Maritime Club, where she served as treasurer during her junior year, Winter Percussion, Marching Band, and EdRising.

"Kayla’s commitment to both academics and extracurricular activities highlights her strong work ethic and passion for making a positive impact," the Rotary Club noted. "Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a career in the medical field as a pediatric physician assistant."
Each month the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. The club makes these presentations at Interim Superintendent Adam Swinney's monthly District-Wide Students of the Month Assembly, which takes place the last Friday of the month in the Media Center at the high school.

The East Haven Rotary Club presents each honoree with a certificate, a Rotary commemorative coin, and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1000 Jack Leary Memorial Scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year. The Club, now in its 88th year, was organized on March 3, 1939.
