East Haven Rotary Named Final 2022-2023 Students Of The Month
For the months of April, May and June, East Haven High School juniors, students Elexis Zachey, Katelyn Webster and Tory Tito were honored.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Recently, the East Haven Rotary Club honored their final Student of the Month recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year.
For the months of April, May and June, students Elexis Zachey, Katelyn Webster and Tory Tito were honored.
Zachey, who was nominated by the Art Department, plays soccer and tennis and is in the Drama Club and HTAG (Hagaman Memorial Library). Future plans include attending college and furthering education.

Webster was nominated by the Music Department. Katelyn’s a member of the EHHS Marching Band, the Drama Club, WHAC Summer Theatre, Girl Scouts of CT, GS, CEO Girl Advisory Board, HTAG, Gilder Lohrman Institute of History and the Student Advisory Council. Her future plans are to attend a four-year college, as a double major in musical theater/performance and political science. Katelyn intends to move to New York and audition to see if anything comes of acting or music, or pursue a master’s degree. She wishes to stay in music, as she’s been in band and theater her whole life.
Teto was nominated by the Business Department. Tory was a JMMS Honor Society Member and is involved with Mr. Devany and FBLA. Tory, also known as "DJ Tory T" really stood out during the pandemic, atop a truck, playing tunes for East Haven children's birthdays and then for EH’s Graduating Seniors. Then he began collecting donations to first responders and frontline health care workers and East Haven Food Pantry. These thoughtful and humble acts earned him the honor of “Patch Hero”. He has been described as having the biggest heart and enjoys every minute of making them smile. In 2021, Tory was a recipient of The East Haven Mayor’s Merit Award.

Each month, the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. The club has recently been invited to make these presentations at Superintendent Erica Forti’s monthly, District Wide Students of the Month Assembly, which takes place the last Friday of the month in the Media Center at East Haven High School.
The East Haven Rotary Club presents each honoree with a certificate, a Rotary commemorative coin and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1000 Jack Leary Memorial Scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year.
The Club, now in its 84th year was organized on March 3, 1939.
