East Haven Says No to Proposed Paintball Park: Report
A Board of Education policy led to the commission's rejection of the plans.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission voted against Steven Serio Sr.'s proposal to construct a new outdoor paintball and Airsoft park Wednesday night in town, Fox 61 reports.
The rejection was based on the fact that the proposal violated Board of Education policy because it's within 1,000 feet of a school, Fox 61 reports. No use can be approved if it involves any type of gun and is located within 1,000 feet of school grounds, according to reports.
Serio, of Branford, had leased a 50-acre parcel at 100 Sperry Lane, which is the former Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Camp Murray site, and hoped to construct his outdoor paintball facility there, the New Haven Register reports.
