EAST HAVEN, CT — The COVID-19 case tracker published by East Haven Public Schools was not updated after Monday afternoon until Thursday. Wednesday Patch contacted the district’s central office about the lack of an update.

Over the course of the week, a number of the standard letters from schools superintendent Erica Forti have been sent home to families with virtually all stating that the cases are “not in-school” transmission but rather community spread cases brought into schools. And in each letter the news that schools and East Shore District Health have deemed the schools to be safe and should remain open.
Meanwhile, the town has gone from 37 cases to 99 cases in the past week.
This story will be updated Friday should the district release the reports of any new cases or make any decision on school opening statuses.
