The national survey by Niche.com ranked the district No. 24 overall out of 31 New Haven area schools.

The East Haven school system was ranked the 24th best New Haven Metro Area school system out of 31 schools in the region according to 2015 Niche Rankings.
East Haven received a C+ for its academics, it earned a B- for health and safety, teachers received a B-, resources and facilities scored a B+, extracurricular activities scored a B+ and sports received a B.
According to state standards, 73% of students in East Haven are considered proficient in math and/or reading. The district has an annual budget of $58,142,000, spending an average of $17,035 per student.
