East Haven Schools Security Project Leads to Questions

Confusion over the qualifications of the North Haven based company awarded the project has been aired.

Some confusion has been broached regarding the qualifications of a company that won the bid to install a new a real-time video security camera system for the East Haven Public Schools, reports the New Haven Register.

In April it was announced by a 6-1 Board of Education vote that Advance Alarms Security System Inc. of North Haven, would be awarded the bid and paid $164,474 for the security work. After some other features were added the total price tag was $309,767, the Register reports.

The company was the second lowest bidder and some have stated that the company doesn’t have the necessary certification to integrate the new security system into the existing one the school system utilizes, the Register reports. But the schools superintendent says the company is fully able to complete the project.
