East Haven School Staff Member Placed on Leave After Parent Complaint: Report

Police say they don't believe the allegations warrant an arrest at this time. School officials are investigating.

EAST HAVEN, CT — An East Haven staff member has been placed on paid administrative leave while school officials investigate a complaint made against the teacher, WTNH News 8 reports.

East Haven Police Lt. Joseph Murgo released a statement late Monday saying as of right now police do not believe the allegations are criminal in nature.

"Earlier today we received a complaint from a parent regarding a band teacher who is accused of being verbally abusive to her son and several other students. After taking the parent's complaint, it was determined that the issues discussed do not meet the criteria for an arrest and we referred her back to the school to handle it internally," Murgo said in a statement.
