East Haven Student Earns Degree from Alvernia University

Congrats to the local student.

From Alvernia University: Mckenzie Sara Miessau of East Haven, Conn., has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training . Miessau completed studies on Main Campus in Reading, Pa cum laude.

Alvernia's graduation ceremonies on May 12, 2018 featured a Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding Ceremony on Main Campus followed by Commencement at Santander Arena.

Commencement speakers included President Thomas F. Flynn, Ph.D., and nursing graduate Cynthia L. Truscott. John Hope Bryant earned an Honorary Degree of Humane Letters before offering remarks and Bishop Alfred A. Schlert officiated Baccalaureate Mass before being named an Honorary Degree of Humane Letters recipient.

The Commencement ceremony marked the graduation of Alvernia's first cohort of Reading Collegiate Scholars and the inaugural class of Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates. Several members of the Class of 1968 were also recognized during their 50th anniversary.
