East Haven Town Hall Cupola Receives Free 'Facelift'

The project was donated by various local businesses and their workers.

Recently the Town Hall Cupola received a free “facelift” courtesy of the efforts of Mayor Joe Maturo along with his Director of Administration & Management, Sal Brancati, town officials said in a prepared statement.

The cupola was completely repainted with the recognizable East Haven school colors of blue and gold. The project which would have cost the town in the thousands was donated by various local businesses and their workers that were obtained by the administration.

Due to the height of the cupola and the necessity to be able to access all sides of it, the only practicable way to perform this work was by securing the use of a large industrial crane and using a floating bucket for additional maneuverability. Just the need for such a large complex piece of equipment and the specialized bucket would have cost the town thousands before ever paying for the work and the materials.
