East Haven Will Rocket From The Beach: Baby, There'll Be Fireworks!

EAST HAVEN, CT —The 20th annual East Haven Fireworks/Beach Party celebration is set for June 25.

The town and the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 484 announced the event, which will include a day of music, live entertainment, food and fun at the beach starting at noon. The party will continue right up to fireworks launch time, around 9:15 p.m.

The rain date, which will have limited entertainment, and fireworks, will be Monday, June 27.

The musical lineup includes bands Wednesday Bowling League, Start Me Up, Rolling Stones Tribute band, The Name Droppers Featuring Bobby T, and Wanted DOA, Bon Jovi Tribute band.

In addition to musical performances which will begin at noon, WPLR-FM 99.1 will be broadcasting from the Town Beach.

There will be food vendors and concessionaires in the immediate area.

Street access to the beach will be limited beginning at 9 a.m. Cosey Beach Avenue will be closed from the intersection of Second Avenue to Philips Street. Similarly, Coe Avenue will be closed from the Bradford Street intersection to the beach. The East Haven Police Department will be posting notices and directing motorists in and around the general vicinity of the Town Beach.

Although the fireworks are presented in a cooperative effort with the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 484 and the town of East Haven, the majority of funding comes from private businesses and personal donations. Those who would like to contribute, donations may be mailed to VVA Fireworks 2022 c/o Mayor’s Office, 250 Main Street, East Haven, CT 06512.
