EH Rotary: 918 Golf Balls Fall From The Sky, Lands Lucky Person $1,500

The East Haven Rotary Club's "Great Golf Ball Drop Raffle" fundraiser helps to support the myriad community service programs it provides.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Rotary Club recently held its second annual “Great Golf Ball Drop Raffle."

A helicopter dropped 918 numbered golf balls onto the Foxon Recreation League’s field known as "The Pit, on Maple Street in the Foxon area of East Haven.

The ball that landed closest to the marked target in the field won the holder of that ticket, a $1,500 cash prize. The person who had the matching number ticket for the second-closest ball won a $500 cash prize and the third place prize winner got a $250 award.

This year’s winners were: Rosemary VanWolvelaerd, first prize; Kimie Dicks, second prize and Joanne Moriarty was the third prize winner.

Revenues from this fundraiser will enable the Club to continue many of the community services it has provided since 1939.
