Election 2016 Results: Recount Ordered in Albis Versus Tracey State Rep. Race
On Wednesday morning, full election results and numbers were released for all races that East Haven residents voted on.

UPDATE via the Secretary of State's Office: A notice regarding an automatic recanvass for the following race has been sent out.

Currently, Albis has a 14 vote lead, which led to the automatic recount.

Recanvasses are required when results show the margin of victory to be less than ½ of 1% of votes cast for that office, or less than twenty votes. The process is facilitated by the head moderator of each town, who has 5 business days to complete the recount. The deadline for any recounts resulting from the November 8 election will be November 16 because of the Veteran’s Holiday.
EAST HAVEN, CT — On Election Night in East Haven residents preferred Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton by a margin of 6,992 to 5,491.
Clinton earned 42.7 percent of the vote in East Haven, Trump received 54.4 percent, while Gary Johnson earned 223 votes and Jill Stein received 147 votes.
In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed on multiple lines 6,652 and 1,021 votes and his opponent Dan Carter, a Republican, received 4,304 votes in East Haven.
Incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, received 6,652 and 1,021 votes on multiple lines and Angel Cadena, a Republican, received 4,304 votes.
In East Haven for the 34th Senatorial District Republican Len Fasano, ran unopposed and he received on multiple lines votes of 7,436 and 1,124. He has been a state representative since 2003.
In the 99th State House District, the Democratic candidate James M. Albis received 4,552 and 452 votes on multiple lines in East Haven, and Republican candidate “Big” Steve Tracey earned 4,664 and 346 votes on multiple lines in town. Albis collected 5,004 votes compared to Tracey’s 4,990 votes, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
Albis is completing his third term as state representative. Tracey is a former professional wrestler.
In the 96th State House District the Democratic candidate Roland J. Lemar ran unopposed. He’s been a state representative since 2010. He received 962 and 289 votes on multiple lines.
Democrat Albert Fucci received 5,083 votes and Republican Donna C. Norman earned 6,086 votes for registrar of voters.
