Dr. David L. Katz, internationally renowned expert on nutrition, weight management and the prevention of chronic disease, will be addressing Baby Boomers at the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut’s (VNA/SCC) 107th Annual Meeting and Community Awards event, which will be held on Tues., Nov. 1 beginning at 5pm at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven.
The annual VNA/SCC Community Awards seek to honor organizations or individuals who have truly worked hand-in-hand with the VNA/SCC toward its mission of providing high-quality health care to those at home and in the community.
The 2011 Community Award winners are: The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven – Community Partnership Award; Advanced Monitored Caregiving – Homecare Partnership Award; ADVANCE for Nurses – Media Partnership Award; Gateway Community College – Volunteer Partnership Award; Deb Heinrich, Nonprofit Liaison to Governor Dannel Malloy – President’s Award; and Dr. Ellen Russell Beatty, Ed.D., RN, CNE – Board Volunteer of the Year Award.
