Every Officer Deserves To Be Safe, Human Or K-9

EAST HAVEN, CT — Ace and his partner East Haven Police officer Kevin Maguire have been together for a few years. K-9 Ace has been on Instagram since the summer of 2017. He's pretty well-known, and loved. So loved in fact, the Brady K-9 Fund made sure that Ace had his own bullet and stab-proof vest.

Founder Brady Snakovsky, just 10 and in fourth grade, couldn't understand why all K-9 officers don't have ballistic vests and after learning they're not automatically issued, and are very expensive, he decided to make it his "mission to raise funds in order to protect those who protect us and make sure that they come home at the end of their shift."

The only vest the fund will supply is the one by LOF Defence. Called the Streetfighter, it's designed so the K-9 can wear it for an extended period of time without fatigue or restricting the freedom of movement.

"We believe K-9 police officers deserve the same protection as human police officers. We are making it a priority to vest as many K-9 officers as we can to send them home at the end of their shift," LOF Defence says.

And so, without further ado, here's Ace with his vest!
