Fire Breaks Out At East Haven Pizzeria

Fire crews battled the blaze on Sunday.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Fire Department battled a fire at Depalma's Pizza at 440 Main St. on Sunday morning.

At 11:55 a.m. East Haven 911 center received a call for smoke coming from the rear of Depalma’s Pizza.

On arrival, EHFD found heavy smoke coming from the building and fire in the rear of the building. Fire companies forced entry to the structure and stretched the hose line where they found heavy fire in a rear cook prep room, fire officials said.

They made a quick knockdown of the fire and began to overhaul. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Damage is limited from the fire to that rear room, but smoke damage is reported throughout the entire building, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the East Haven fire marshal’s office.
