First-Ever East Haven Parks & Rec's ETV Summer Video Camp Set For August

The camp explores TV production and culminates in an original TV program featuring media created and compiled by participants.

EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven Parks & Recreation announced its ETV Summer Video Camp for young people entering grades 10, 11, and 12 this fall.

The department said the camp is an "exploration of various roles in TV production, culminating in an original TV program featuring media created and compiled by participants."

The work will end with a feature screening at the ETV Community Media Center for parents, guardians and friends.

Participants will explore the various real-world roles that exist in TV production and will develop and record a scripted multi-camera TV show with pre-recorded elements, graphics, audio, lighting, and camera work.

This immersive experience is perfect for those interested in media, video production, journalism, and/or technology.

The cam runs Monday through Friday, Aug. 3 to Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fee for the camp is $200 for East Haven residents and $220 for non-residents. Camp is held at ETV Studio, 230 Main S., in East Haven.

ETV noted on Facebook that it's "proud to partner with East Haven Recreation Department this year for a unique opportunity for the future media professionals in your lives."

It's noted that the camp is led by ETV's professional staff.

"Campers will learn the ins and outs of every position involved in a multi-cam TV production alongside guest instructors with industry experience from Los Angeles to New England," ETV shared.
