Former East Haven School PTO Treasurer Misused $11K in Funds: Police
The accused allegedly used the funds for numerous personal items, police said.

EAST HAVEN, CT - The former Ferrara Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Treasurer has been arrested and is accused of misusing $11,000 in funds for her own personal use at more than a half a dozen retailers, police said in a news release.
Police said Jodi Trudden of Dora Drive has been charged with first-degree larceny.
"At the time relating to this investigation, Trudden was the Ferrara Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Treasurer, a position she held for approximately two years," police said.

"After being alerted of a possible misuse of funds, a search warrant of the Ferrara School PTO bank account was executed. Through investigation, it was determined that over eleven thousand dollars were used for unauthorized purchases made by Trudden at various merchants including Aldi supermarket, Amazon.com, Bath & Body Works, BJ’s Wholesale, EBay, Yankee Candle, Videostripe.com, Wafios Machinery Corp, Wal-Mart, Zulily, and many others," police said in the news release.
Trudden was released after posting a $5,000 bond. Trudden has a court date of April 13 at New Haven Superior Court.
