Getaway Car Leaves Juvenile Burglars Behind: East Haven PD
The juveniles got another ride courtesy of East Haven Police.
EAST HAVEN, CT — Two juveniles were arrested after their getaway driver fled officers, according to police.
Police got a report of a suspicious person walking up residential driveways in the Brnahaven Drive area around 1:05 a.m. Dec. 29. An officer found a red Toyota Rav 4 on the side of the road with its engine running but lights off. The Rav 4 fled as police approached.
Officers called off the pursuit due to high speeds and learned the vehicle was reported stolen from Hamden on Dec. 28.

Officers surmised that the Rav 4 was likely being used to burglarize cars in the area. They searched the area and found two juvenile suspects. They admitted to being in the Rav 4 and that it was their ride home, police said.
A witness told police that his Ring camera alerted him to motion and he saw people exit the Rav 4 and attempt to enter cars in the area.

Four vehicles at four different residences were burglarized. All of them were left unlocked.
The juveniles were charged with four counts of third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny and four counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.
