Going Batty Waiting? It's Not Been In Vein, Transilvania Opens Oct. 15

EAST HAVEN, CT — Anticipation has been building around the opening of Transilvania Restaurant & Bar, a promised unique dining experience in East Haven. Romanian food is not exactly common fare. And, the vibe too is expected to be singular.

"Drop in for a FANG-TASTIC dining experience."

"We are DYING to meet you!"

Having moved from Fairfield to East Haven, the Romanian eatery has a soft-opening Oct. 15 with its grand opening Oct. 22. Right in time for Halloween.

"Thank you for being here for us all along the way it was not an easy journey but we are finally opening," wrote owners Chris and Alina Caldarariu on Facebook.

The restaurant isn't all about food and drink. It's a museum of sorts.

It includes a library corner at Transilvania where people will be able to learn more about Transilvania, Romania, its food, culture, and traditions.

"We would love to be able to promote tourism to Romania, especially Transilvania because there is so much to see after people visit Bran Castle," they wrote.
