Graduation Grades Are Out: How Does East Haven High School Compare?
The Easties' four-year graduation rate stands at 87.3 percent, which is well above the state average and in keeping with other area districts.
With a four-year graduation rate of 87.3 percent, ranked well above the state average — and competitive with other area school districts — in a new report issued by the Connecticut Department of Education.
According to the state report, which was released yesterday, one in five Connecticut students currently fail to complete high school in four years.
For English language learning (ELL) students, the percentage for non-completion is closer to 40 percent.

Locally, however, East Haven showed solid numbers across the board.
According to the state's 2010 statistics, 77.8 percent of East Haven's Hispanic students graduated in four years compared to the state average of 64 percent.

For black students, 75 percent graduated in four years from EHHS compared to 68.7 percent statewide.
And 90 percent of East Haven High School's Asian students graduated in four years. In the state as a whole, that percentage was 88.8 percent.
Among area schools, East Haven's 87.9 percent was slightly below Branford's four-year graduation rate of 89.9, but higher than North Branford's rate of 84.9 and West Haven's 77.2 percent.
