"This is another great moment for our community," East Haven Mayor Joseph Carfora said. "My administration has been working hand in hand with Barbara Brow, one of the founders of the Shoreline Greenway Trail, and hope to soon announce that we have received funding to complete our portion of the trail by connecting to New Haven."

The Shoreline Greenway Trail has been a collaborative effort between numerous community organizations, town officials, and private donors. The organization's mission is to create a continuous pathway for non-motorized transportation along the Connecticut shoreline while preserving and promoting the region's natural resources.

"I am delighted work has started to extend Shoreline Greenway Trail approximately two miles from the existing trail at the former site of DC Moore School," Shoreline Greenway Trail board director Barbara Brow said. "When completed, this two-mile trail extension will safely connect pedestrians and bicyclists to Coe and Cosey Beach avenues, the shoreline."

The final extension will be the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication from all involved. The new trail section includes stunning views and offers unlimited opportunities for outdoor activities.
