Holiday Vibes At Twin Pines Diner Omnipresent, So Too Its Generosity

EAST HAVEN, CT —Sunday Twin Pines Diner was packed with breakfast diners. Not unlike many Sunday mornings, folks waited patiently, albeit not for very long, for a seat at the wildly popular eatery.

Festooned with every manner of holiday decoration, including a couple of singing Santas, waitstaff too were decked out in holiday garb.

Like decades-long, Twin Pines Diner on again, off again employee, Andrea Monico, whose light-up Santa and Rudolph (not ugly!) Christmas sweater delighted diners, young and old.

A reporter stopped by for a plate of (divine) Challah bread French toast Sunday morning. (Did you know that the breads, cakes, and pies served at the diner are created right there in its a basement bakery?) There, a very cheery Monico shared how the beloved diner and its owner's commitment to the community through its generosity is among the reasons she loves her job.

As reported by local media, East Haven-based lawyer Andrew Amendola and numerous donors and local merchants, including Twin Pines, are providing residents in need holiday gift cards.

As reported last month, senior citizens, veterans and those in need in the community, received a free Thanksgiving dinner at the landmark four-decade strong Twin Pines Diner in East Haven. With the holiday gift card program, those who got that free meal may get a Twin Pines Diner $20 gift certificate by calling the diner at (203) 468-6887.
