ID Released in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in East Haven: Report
A grandmother was trying to cross the road with the use of a walker when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, police said.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A grandmother, who used a walker to cross Foxon Boulevard near Paul Street is the victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident this weekend, WTNH News 8 reports.
Lynn Travisano, 59, was attempting to cross the road when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Saturday night. News 8 reports that there have been 120 accidents along Foxon Road in just the past two years.
Police are still investigating. In an initial report, police said a pedestrian died as a result of injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident Saturday night, police said.

At 8:39 p.m. Saturday the East Haven Police Department responded to Foxon Road for a report of a pedestrian struck, police said.
Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined the vehicle that struck the pedestrian had fled the scene, police said in a news release. The pedestrian was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where they succumbed to injuries sustained from the collision, police said.

A vehicle description was obtained and given out to surrounding agencies. The vehicle along with occupants were later located in the City of New Haven, police said.
The accident is under investigation by the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit and is currently ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information is asked to please contact Officer Gorman at (203) 468-3820.
