ID Released of Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car: East Haven Police
The accident occurred Thursday evening and the victim died at a local hospital as a result of injuries she sustained in the accident.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A 47-year-old woman has been identified by police as the person killed while being struck by a car in East Haven Thursday evening, police said.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, police said. Police said at 7:09 p.m. Thursday the East Haven Police Department responded to Coe Avenue for a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined the pedestrian, who was later identified as Colleen Carney, 47, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision, police said.
Carney was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she died due to the injuries sustained from the collision, police said.

The vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene and was a 2014 BMW 535xi with two occupants. The vehicle was determined to be operated by David Parise, 56, police said.
Preliminary investigation shows that Parise was driving northbound on Coe Avenue when Carney was struck in the roadway, police said. It was also determined that the collision did not occur in a crosswalk, police said.

The accident is still under investigation by the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit and is currently ongoing. Police did say "at this point, no charges have been filed against the operator of the vehicle as this appears to be just a tragic accident."
