Inaugural Letter To Residents From Mayor-Elect Carfora

"Thank you, East Haven. Last night was by a wide margin, one of the most humbling experiences of my life. Without the help of so many this is not possible. The magnitude of representing East Haven, my hometown, is not lost on me. I promise to work hard each day to represent this great town proudly and respectfully. We will be an inclusive and transparent administration – I look forward to walking through town hall later today to introduce myself to the staff.

I want to wish Mr. Tracey and Mr. Sioson well. I received a call from Oni. Steve Tracey personally came to our headquarters last night to concede the race, and to congratulate our team. It is now time to move forward as a united community.

Last evening, I spoke with Mayor Maturo- who was nothing less than gracious. Joe has instructed his staff to cooperate with our transition efforts, which realistically start in earnest today. I look forward to a cooperative, coordinated and smooth transition.

I will be scheduling meetings immediately with the finance director, Mr. Rizza, Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli, and Police Chief Ed Lennon.

Over the next few days, I will be announcing our transition team; and, as days the progress, the formation of my administration. We will also be announcing additional details about the inauguration, which will be held on Saturday November 16, 2019.

Again – thank you so very much and congratulations to others who gained seats last evening. No matter what their party affiliation, together we will lead East haven to a bright and prosperous future."
