EAST HAVEN, CT — A man accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile family member was arrested Tuesday while making a court appearance for a previous arrest, police said. This is the second time the accused has been arrested on a sexual assault charge in two years, police said.

A concerned parent came to police headquarters with her juvenile child on July 31 to report a sexual assault committed by a family member, police said.

The parent told police her child came to her and provided a detailed account of various sexual encounters with the family member, who was later identified as Christian Lorig, 31, police said.

The accused currently has another pending case making its way through the court system for sexually assaulting a different family member, for which he was previously arrested by East Haven police in May 2018, police said.
