Maria Flores-Sanabria obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Maria Flores-Sanabria, 70 of East Haven and West Haven passed away at home surrounded by her children and family on September 8, 2025. She was born June 11, 1955 in Guanica, Puerto Rico to the late Pedro Flores and Angelica Sanabria. Maria is survived by her four devoted sons; Ismael Camacho (Johanna) of Groton CT, Jesus Camacho (Johanna) of Milford, Angel Camacho of New Haven and Juan Melendez (Christina) of East Haven along with three grandchildren she adored; Tatiyana Camacho, Juan Yandel Melendez and Yazline Melendez. She is also survived by her siblings; Pedro Flores, Eva Flores, William Flores, Cano Flores, Rafael Flores and Marta Flores.

Maria Flores was a passionate and devoted mother to her four sons and grandmother of three. Always there to give you love, listen, and help people out. She was in love with her five dogs, yes five dogs. She would say “they are not dogs; they are family and my other children.” She helped a lot of dog off the street and find forever homes. Her cooking was amazinggggg. She use to love feeding people (speaking has a son). My mother was a special soul, all she wanted was to feel the love and give it forward. In her own ways she touched many people.

We will miss and love her forever and honor her wishes and legacy, especially the helping out of animals. We LOVE you Mom, your boys: ISMAEL, JESUS, ANGEL, JUAN. Rest in peace my Queen.
