Maturo and Staff Donate Christmas Party Funds to Charities

The funds will benefit three local groups.

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. and his staff decided to take the money they were planning to use for their annual “Mayor’s Christmas Party” and donate it to three local charities, the New Haven Register reports.

A total of $650 each is being donated to the East Haven Food Pantry, East Haven Animal Shelter and the Rotary Club’s Clothe Our Children Drive.

Maturo told the Register that him and his staff felt donating the money to local organizations that do so much good for the community was the best use of money this year.
