Momauguin School, East Haven to Declare Wednesday 'Nick Fradiani Day' Ahead of Top 24 American Idol Season 15 Performance

Fradiani is a native of East Haven and attended Momauguin School.

Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. announced today that Momauguin School will be holding an assembly on Tuesday, February 24th to present an official Mayoral Proclamation in honor of East Haven native Nick Fradiani, Jr., who will be making his first performance in American Idol’s “Top 24” competition Wednesday night.

Maturo explained, “At tomorrow’s assembly, the Town will be declaring Wednesday, February 25th to be ‘Nick Fradiani Day’ in honor of Nick’s amazing journey and ahead of what we expect will be another exhilarating performance from Nick on Wednesday night.”

Although Nick Fradiani, Jr. will be across the country preparing for his “Top 24” performance, his father will be in attendance to accept the proclamation and thank the students and Town for their support.

Maturo explained, “We’re proud to call Nick Fradiani, Jr. an East Haven native and we’re even more proud to be rallying our support behind him ahead of this first, exciting performance.”

The assembly, which is expected to run from 10:30AM to 11:00AM, will feature the presentation of the official Town proclamation, words from a few special guests, and some surprises which are being prepared by the 3rd, 4th, and 5h graders at Momauguin School.

Mark Levy, Principal of Momauguin School, continued, “When the staff and students here found out about the assembly, they couldn’t wait to get involved. We have an abundance of pride here in East Haven and, in particular at Momauguin School, and when one of our own needs our support, we always rally to the cause. I know the atmosphere at Momauguin School has been electric today, as the students and staff have been gearing up to show their support for Nick as he continues his exciting journey to be American’s next superstar.”

Maturo concluded, “I know the entire Town, and especially the Momauguin School community, is excited to be able to celebrate and support Nick. Above all, we need to remember that when voting time comes, we need to rally behind Nick, shower him with votes, and help propel him onward and upward toward his dream of being American’s next ‘Idol.’”
