Motorcycle Crash With Serious Injury Sunday Night at Hemingway and Dodge Avenues' Intersection: EHPD
Sunday night just before 9 p.m., a collision between a truck and a motorcycle resulted in the motorcyclist being admitted to Yale ICU: EHPD

EAST HAVEN, CT — At around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, on social media, police asked motorists to avoid the area of Hemingway Avenue between Short Beach Road and Pennsylvania Avenue due to a "serious injury motorcycle accident."
It was noted that the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit Regional Accident Reconstruction Team was on the scene of the incident and would be investigating.
On Monday morning, East Haven police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo said that at 8:56 p.m., the SCCTU was activated to the crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Dodge Avenue and Hemingway Avenue.

Murgo said that based on the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle operator was traveling southbound on Hemingway Avenue through the intersection of Dodge Avenue.
At the same time, a pickup truck traveling northbound on Hemingway Avenue attempted to make a left turn onto Dodge Avenue, Murgo said.

As the pickup truck began its turn, the motorcycle collided with the front driver's side of the vehicle, causing the motorcycle operator to be ejected, he said.
The motorcycle operator was treated on scene by East Haven Fire Department medics before being transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious injuries and remains in the intensive care unit, Murgo confirmed.
