Neal Izzo of East Haven CT

Neal Albert Izzo, 78 of Hudson, Florida, formerly of East Haven passed away October 18, 2024. He was born May 10, 1946 in New Haven to Anthony and Margaret (Parker) Izzo. Neal is survived by his three sons; Christopher Izzo, Joshua Izzo and Frank Izzo along with two brothers, Patrick Izzo of East Haven and Joseph Izzo (Carol) of Bluffton SC.

Neal is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eileen Frederick.

Neal graduated from East Haven High School and shortly after joined the United States Navy. He served faithfully for 4 years and was primarily stationed aboard the USS Fiske, a destroyer during the Viet Nan War. He was awarded the Viet Nam Service Medal with a Bronze Star. He also was awarded the National Defense Medal, and The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Dominican Republic).

Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, Neal began work at the UPS facilities in Rhode Island as well as several other jobs in sales. Neal’s eye sight began to severely diminish causing him to retire. Having a service disability benefit for his blindness, Neal relocated to Florida and took up residence at an assisted living facility until his passing. Neal will be missed by his family, especially his brother Joe Izzo and his very close friend, Michael Paulsen

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday May 12, 2025 at 11 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery with full US Navy Honors. All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
