NEW HAVEN, CT - If you've been drinking beer a long time, or your grandparents and great grandparents did, than you are probably know that the king of beers in the Greater New Haven decades and decades ago was Hull's Export Beer.
Well guess what? Hull's is BACK!

In an interview Thursday, the man who is re-launching Hull's, Chuck DelVecchio, talked about why he is doing so.
"I grew up I New Haven, went to Career High School, went to UConn," said DelVecchio, who said he has resigned from his position at a national accounting firm to pursue his dream of reviving the Hull’s brand.

"Growing up I heard stories from my family reminiscing about Hull’s,” DelVecchio said.
Hull's Beer started in 1872 and was once the dominant beer in Greater New Haven - and far beyond.
It was rolled off the loading docks and into bars all over southern New England every day. You couldn't get fresher beer any day of the week than Hull's on tap.
Unfortunately, the young jock market was swept away by the dazzle of the 70's TV commercials put out by Michelob, Coors, Heineken, Lowenbrau, Budweiser and others.
Hull's was housed in an imposing brick building on Congress Avenue in New Haven - a building that has long been demolished. At one time, Hull's was also the distributor of Guinness Stout.
DelVecchio said that when he decided to re-launch the brand, "I focused on brewing a historically accurate beer that is true to the original.”
To ensure he did so, DelVecchio enlisted the help of Overshores Brewing Company in East Haven to contract the beer and signed on Star Distributors in West Haven to distribute the beer.
DelVecchio said the beer will initially be available in cans but draft will be coming soon.
