Hi, my name is Ashley. I’m 24 years old, and 9 days before my first birthday I was diagnosed with the blood cancer Leukemia. When I was about 4, a man named Jim ran with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training in the NY Marathon in honor of me. The picture posted is of me at the time that Jim ran for me, wearing my “”Someone is training for me” shirt. I have always wanted to return the favor and do the same for a child with cancer, so this past week I decided to sign up with Team in Training to do the NY Half Marathon in March 2015 in honor of a child with cancer (who I am still in the process of finding). In order to do this half marathon, it is a requirement from Team in Training that I raise at least $1,800. I have until my recommitment date of January 16, 2015 to raise this money. If I do not raise this amount by then, I have two choices; drop out, or pay the difference. I am a college Master’s student, so my option would be to drop out, seeing as I do not have the money to spare to pay the difference. Any donation amount helps greatly. All of the money raised goes to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for blood cancer. Please help me reach my goal of $1,800 so that I can participate in running in the NY Half Marathon in honor of a child with cancer. Below is the link to my fundraising website where you can choose how much you wish to donate, or share the page with others. Thank you!
