Obituary: Alice S. Prodoti Pocograno, 85, of East Haven

Surrounded by her loving family at home, February 28, 2018, Alice S. Prodoti Pocograno, 85, of East Haven, entered into rest after a brief battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Pocograno. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Stella Addario Prodoti. In the early years of her marriage, Alice was a sewing machine operator, then became a devoted stay-at-home mom.

She returned to work as a baker for many years at the former Hilltop Orchards in Branford prior to her retirement. Alice’s great joys were her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid baker and quilter. Alice was kind to everyone and will be missed by all. She leaves a son Louis F. (Diane Conradi) Pocograno of Guilford, and a daughter Denise (Roger) Harbanuk of Wolcott and was the loving grandmother of Louis (Kristy) Pocograno, Alex (Mike Valenti) and Andrew Harbanuk, Kristen (Robert) Hawreluk, Matthew and Adam Ursone, and great-grandmother of Michael and Giuliana Hawreluk.

Alice also leaves a sister Amelia (MIllie) Iannucci of North Haven, brother Dominick Prodoti of Westbrook, brothers Guido and Michael Prodoti of New Haven, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers James, Angelo (Andy), George (Duke) Prodoti, and sister Stella Barbado. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the VNA-Hospice for their care and compassion.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), East Haven Tuesday morning at 11:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave, North Haven at 11:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call MONDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM.
