Obituary: Anthony A. Poleshek Sr. 79, of East Haven

Anthony was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan, loved to listen to Frank Sinatra and loved to watch the UCONN girls basketball team.

Anthony A. Poleshek Sr. 79, of East Haven beloved husband of Mary Ann Yedynak Poleshek passed away on February 7, 2018 in CT. Hospice. Loving father of Edward (Nancy) Poleshek of East Haven and John (Anna) Pereira and Mary Flynn all of North Haven. Grandfather of Jamie Lee (Eric) Nastri, Kristina Pereira and John Pereira Jr. Great grandfather of Peter Nastri, Jackson Pereira and Violet Nastri. Brother of Andrew (Sandy) Poleshek of Madison and John (Erlinda) Poleshek of CA.

Anthony is also survived by a son Anthony A. Poleshek Jr. and family. Anthony was born in New Haven on June 27, 1938 son of the late Wasil and Antoinette Amarone Poleshek. Prior to his retirement Anthony was a supervisor for the S.C.G.C. and was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven MONDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call SUNDAY from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Pompeii Church Food Bank 355 Foxon Rd. East Haven,CT. 06513.
